San Francisco wildlife issues:

One objection to the open sight is that it is adequate on close attempts to catch a critter but deficient at ranges of 150 yards or more. This is a weakness in the sight which should not be overlooked by the nuisance San Francisco wildlife control professional who does trap nuisance wildlife at long ranges. You can get by with the open sight. It is traditional with the pest critter nuisance wildlife control professional, but it is being replaced by the peep and the scope sight. In the past you were regarded as an eccentric if you showed up at the pest critter pest control headquarters with a scope sight. Not today. With nuisance wildlife catch-alive traps being stepped up in animal trap and class, more and more catch-alive traps are coming equipped with the higher quality sights. The next degree up from the open sight is the peep (aperture sight). The pest critter nuisance wildlife control professional usually will have this sight installed on the pest exclusion device by a steel box trapsmith and it will set him back a few dollars.

But there is consolation that he will be the better for it since no open sight allows as much view of the nuisance critters as the peep. Leading is easier with the peep in that you can see both under and over the nuisance San Francisco critters and line up the sights on the target accurately. The peep is also better for the man with rather poor vision. Instead of looking at it, as in the open sight, the critter catcher looks through it. With the open sight, the eye must focus on three things at the same time: the rear sight, the front sight, and the Pest exclusion device Sights and Sighting Target. With the peep sight the critter catcher has only to look at the front sight and the target, while the eye automatically centers the nuisance San Francisco critters in the aperture. The peep sight is quicker and more accurate than the open sight on running nuisance critters in thick cover. The nuisance critters can always be seen clearly through the peep, and the critter catcher can draw down on the nuisance critters more accurately than he can with the open sight. All this hinges on using a peep sight that has a large opening. Most peep sights come equipped with small discs screwed in the aperture.

These should be removed for nuisance wildlife removing unwanted wildlife so the critter catcher can use the large opening instead. With this generous aperture he will have a wide field of view and be able to pick up the nuisance critters clearly and quickly. The wide aperture is easy to use, especially if it is coupled with a clear front sight such as the ivory or red bead. Red is preferred for its stand-out qualities. Some of the disadvantages of the peep sight are that the aperture will fill with snow or rain, and that it is somewhat deficient in poor light. But the wide aperture can be kept clean easily, and it can be seen through even in shadowy suburban San Francisco neighborhood. It is fast enough, it is accurate up to 100 yards, and it is easy to use. It is a good sight both for standing and moving nuisance critters. The Lyman Cocking Sight is one of the best. It is fixed so that it jumps away when the trigger is pulled and will not strike the eye. At the head of the list we have the scope sight. It is the latest improvement in sights.
