What diseases do rodents carry?

There are different categories of rodents and mostly are responsible for causing diseases to humans and their pets. Usually the way of spreading germs and infestation is by means of their droppings. In another instance rodents may also be carrying fleas and ticks in their fur which can also be transferred to furry pet animals like cats, dogs and so on. There are many other reasons that infestations can be spread by animals droppings in your house and these are also not coming from your pets. It so happens many times that the animals like rodents which enter into your house and start building nests over there. When they live and eat in the house, they will also produce their droppings which can bring about a lot of infestation in the house. This is really dangerous because the feces of rodents can be source of various germs and hence diseases not only caused to the pet in your house but also to you. Sometimes other than spreading infestation through their droppings and urine, the rodents can also spread infestation by biting and spreading. For example the famous disease rat bit fever and be caused by the biting or scratching by rats.

Whether it is urine or feces produced by rodents, there is a huge reservoir of germs present in both which can be transferred to humans easily if proper care is not taken while handling and cleaning it. Feces of rats cause rickettsia. A lot of care is required in order to carry out the procedure of disposing of the feces of rodents. Some rodents produce so much poisonous and contaminated droppings that can really harm the humans in many ways by causing many different diseases.

Certain germs present in their urine if inhaled can result in the damage to the liver and kidneys. Sometimes if the scat is handled improperly, then the same infection can also be transferred in much severe form. In further complications liver and renal failure as well as an aggravation of the cardiovascular diseases is also observed. There are a lot of diseases associated with it therefore it becomes really important to dispose of the feces of rodents as soon as it is traced and observed in any part of the house. Usually it so happens that most of the rodents like to build their nests in the attic of house because it is an isolated portion away from the reach of humans for most of the time.
